HOW TO KEEP YOUR HOME SAFE, THE OBSERVATION STYLE

I do not know about you but I believe strongly that security is a human right. Every human on earth must have freedom from fear, freedom from want and freedom from indignity.

When you are safe, you are empowered to take charge of your own life. I mean whom would you not want to take charge of his own life. Well, I would.

In some parts of the world, many people live in constant fear of being attacked and killed, or their homes burgled by thieves. That feeling isn’t right!!

Today, we give you tips on how to keep your home safe and never sleep with one eye opened.

#1. Create the illusion that someone is at your house.

If you plan to be away for an extended period, leave a TV or stereo on in a room near the front door or other entry points like side doors or first floor windows. If you are going away for a few days, let your trusted friends and neighbors check on things while you are away. Use exterior lighting and motion detectors to minimize places where a burglar could easily hide, as well.

#2. Make sure all exterior doors have reliable locks.

Install deadbolt locks on all exterior doors, and lock all doors before leaving your home or going to bed. Thanks to technology, you can go a step further to use optional home security equipment like smart locks to lock and unlock doors remotely using an app that in turn ensures that you are not left wondering whether you locked the door.

#3. Always look before opening the door.

If you get an unexpected knock at the door, check to see who it is before opening it. You can also keep your home security system’s wireless key-chain handy when there is a stranger at the door, in case you need to call for help.

#4. Keep curtains and blinds shut.

Do not allow intruders to easily see what is inside your home. Especially in rooms where there are expensive equipment. Curtains and blinds obscure a potential intruder’s view, making it difficult to see which rooms hold high value items, or even whether someone is inside the house.
